Beauty Army April 2013 Unboxing

I received my April 2013 Beauty Army box in the mail today and I am excited to show you the contents. Beauty Army is a monthly subscription service where you choose up to 6 items that were selected based on your profile quiz. If you do not like the selections you can either re-take the quiz or skip the month. The monthly cost for the subscription in $12. Click Here if you would like to subscribe to Beauty Army.

The first item was the Mark Hook Up Lip Gloss in Honey. Glistening shine, sheer color and minty freshness all in one. Lips stay smooth and moisturized, with a slick and sexy finish. Hook up products: packaged in a convenient mini vial. Applicator included in cap.

About This Shade: This peachy-pink gloss not only gives your lips a natural wash of color but keeps them moisturized.

I received a full size sample which retails for $6.50. Below is a picture and a swatch of the color which I really love. I'm happy I got this item in my box.

The second item is the GG Gatsby Raise Volume Shampoo. The product is a gentle, sulfate free cleanser intensifies volume for sexy, voluptuous hair:
• Creates body and volume without weighing hair down
• Adds maximum shine
• Cleanses and revitalizes hair and scalp
• Delivers mirror-like shine and endless fullness that lasts

Technology: Lift your hair to new heights with Oleo-Volume & Strength Technology™

Exclusive Oleosome Delivery System penetrates deep into the hair shaft delivering ingredients lightening fast. The results: 40% fearless volume & 50% heavy-weight strength.

My hair is straight and has no volume whatsoever, so I'm very excited to try this shampoo out. The retails for a 8.4oz bottle is $14.99. I received a .5oz sample which is equivalent to .89 cents.

The next item is the Lash Card Mascara Shields - Apply your mascara perfectly! Lash Card has two curves, fitting a variety of eye shapes. These contoured curves ensure nose bridge clearance and the ability to get into those hard-to-reach bottom lashes. Don't let smudging or clumping ruin your look; let the Lash Card prevent your mascara mishaps!

20 shields go for $13.98. I received 2 shields which has a value of $1.40. I thought this was an interesting item. And I always hate it when I get mascara in my eyelids, especially if I'm wearing shadow, so I can't wait to try this out.

The next item is Olive Natural Beauty - The Olive Bar (Lemon & Lavender) - The Olive Natural Beauty Bar is made from a blend of time-honored soap making traditions. Distilled water and hand-blended organic oils blend to create the smoothest, most natural, luxuriously lathering soap with absolutely no impurities. This blend of organic lavender, lemon, and lemongrass essential oils bring a beautifully bright, balanced and calming scent to this bar. The tremendously moisturizing benefits of organic extra virgin olive oil provide linoleic and oleic acids that help keep skin firm, glowing, and baby soft. No matter how you rub it, this bar will make your skin say "ahhhh."

*100% Natural & Organic
*Travel Friendly!
*This bar is so moisturizing, you can use it to shave!

This soap smells exactly like the Prestiche Lemongrass soap I got in my Glossybox for March. A full size 8oz bar costs $10. The sample I got is approximately .5 oz which is equivalent to .63 cents

The next item is Skinn Cosmetics Color Touch Eye, Cheek, & Lip Glow (Teen Tone) - This rich creamy formula adds a natural, comfortable touch of color to eyes, cheeks and lips--anywhere the sun may naturally kiss you. The formula feels wonderful to the touch and is very simple to apply anytime you want to add a natural touch of color, without looking made-up.

A .17oz size cost $17. I received .134, which is a value of $13.4. I will definitely try this products out on my lips and cheeks. I will have to see how it goes on as an eye shadow. Below is a swatch of the color.

The last item is Amalactin Moisturizing Body Lotion - AmLactin® Moisturizing Body Lotion has a special formula with clinically proven 12% lactic acid that’s pH-balanced for the skin. Don’t let the word “acid” concern you. Especially since lactic acid is a naturally occurring humectant for the skin with a certain affinity for water molecules to help keep skin hydrated. And the more moisture that can be retained deep within the skin, the softer and smoother your skin feels.

In addition, by encouraging natural skin cell renewal through exfoliation and delivering intense hydration deep within the skin, this lotion creates a soft, smooth texture you’ll love.

  • The #1 moisturizer brand recommended by dermatologists for rough, dry skin
  • Fragrance free
  • Non-greasy
  • Long lasting
A full size bottel costs $11.99. I received a 2oz bottle which is worth approximately $3.04.

The overall value of the box is $25.86, which is less than what I would like, but I am happy with what I got in my box, so I will see what the selections are when my window opens again and will decide then if to purchase a box or skip the month.

Did you guys get you Beaty Army Box in April? What items you selected and which ones you liked best?
